Both pieces are fully upholstered in cognac-coloured leather and feature a compact, rounded form with a practical arrangement of storage. Each nightstand has a single drawer, complemented by an open compartment below for books or other personal items. The leather continues across the exterior, creating a consistent appearance throughout the design. Their compact proportions and integrated storage make them well suited for use beside a bed, while their simple form also allows them to function as side tables in other areas of the interior.
Luigi Massoni (1930–2013) was an Italian architect, designer, art director and editor who was active at the centre of Milan’s post-war design scene. He worked across furniture, interiors, lighting and industrial design, collaborating with several important Italian manufacturers. His long association with Poltrona Frau began in the late 1960s and resulted in a number of furniture designs that explored the possibilities of leather and upholstered forms. Massoni also worked with companies including Boffi, Guzzini and Alessi, and was involved in design publishing through the magazine Forme. His work is characterised by an interest in combining practical use with a clear, considered approach to form and materials.
Condition
Very good condition showing small signs of usage throughout the wood and cognac leather and wood. Both nightstands are structurally checked and the drawers are functioning well.
We have consciously chosen to photograph all of our items in their current state to present the real original condition as completely as possible for transparency towards our clients.
In case you have any additional questions about the original condition, always feel free to reach out and ask us for additional images. We do also offer services such as restoration and re-upholstery in case this is wished for. -
