Eunsol Kim: Creates quiet, poetic works that capture fleeting moments of everyday life

Eunsol Kim is an Korean artist based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, working with ceramics to explore notions of time and materiality. She finds inspiration in small moments and overlooked details of everyday life, observing them with a warm and attentive gaze after which she translates these quiet encounters into her work. This practice goes beyond simple representation, inviting people to rediscover the subtle beauty embedded in ordinary objects and fleeting moments. Eunsol Kim her work seeks to bring these understated forms of beauty back into daily life, creating gentle pauses, small joys and moments of resonance that linger with warmth.

After spending four years in South Korea building a strong technical foundation in ceramics, she moved to the Netherlands to study at Design Academy Eindhoven. This transition was a defining moment, as it pushed her to look beyond traditional methods and begin experimenting with the physical properties of various materials. This research-based approach naturally expanded the scope of her work, adding a contemporary layer to her craftsmanship. Now based in Eindhoven, she continues to develop her practice by bringing together these two distinct backgrounds. Her work is a steady, ongoing process of bridging the disciplined skills she learned in Korea with the open, experimental perspective found in the Netherlands.

This collection is inspired by the moisture-covered windows often seen in the Netherlands. The artist translated the soft, blurred landscapes created by condensation into ceramic works. Using a glaze developed specifically for this series, the surfaces capture the appearance of moisture gathering. The collection reflects brief, disappearing moments of daily life through a quiet, poetic lens. She is currently expanding the Condensation Collection, first presented at Dutch Design Week 2025.
