This three-seater sofa, Model V-11, designed by Wikkelsø, originates from Denmark and dates to the 1960s and was made my master furniture maker Holger Christiansen. The sofa features original black patinated leather, which remains intact across the seat, backrest, and armrests. The sofa has been restored with professional care, the cushions have been re-colored, conditioned, greased and stuffed with new down filling. The rubber suspension has been replaced and the wood was also restored.

The structure consists of a solid wooden frame supporting the seating unit. The legs are pyramid-shaped and made from teak, positioned at an angle, a typical feature in Wikkelsø’s designs from this period.
The sofa comes with 8 loose cushions which have a down filling. This creates a very soft seaat which can be shaped to the clients preferences. The down filling has a very puffy appearance, which really stands in great contrast with the neat and sleek design of the outside of the sofa. The underside of the sofa includes support straps to provide extra seating comfort.
On the bottom of the sofa you'llf find a label of the Seller, 'Edmund Jørgensen Boligmontering'
This model reflects production methods and material choices typical in Denmark during the 1960s, associated with Wikkelsø’s body of work.

Illum Wikkelsø was a Danish furniture designer born in 1919 and active primarily during the mid-20th century. He studied at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts and later worked with notable designers such as Jacob Kjær and Peter Hvidt. Wikkelsø established his own studio in 1954, focusing on functional, well-crafted furniture. His designs often emphasize organic forms, solid construction, and comfort. He worked with materials such as teak, oak, and leather, aligning with the broader Scandinavian design movement. Wikkelsø produced both upholstered and wooden furniture, with many pieces now recognized as examples of Danish modern design.

    Condition
The original black leather has been restored and is in good condition with some wear on the seating cushions. The teak cone shaped legs had some small restoration and intentionally still showing some signs of age and wear which is in line with the age of the sofa.

We have consciously chosen to photograph all of our items in their current state to present the real original condition as completely as possible for transparency towards our clients.

In case you have any additional questions about the original condition, always feel free to reach out and ask us for additional images. We do also offer services such as restoration and re-upholstery in case this is wished for.
