This version is made of Brass, nickel-plated steel and aluminium. It consists of a vertical stem, a pivoting shade element, and a weighted base designed for stability. The lamp corresponds to a model developed by Schulz for Wohnbedarf during the same period and reflects the firm’s focus on functional, modular domestic equipment. The components are fixed together with visible mechanical joints, and the shade can be positioned to direct light in different directions.
Dieter Schulz was a Swiss designer active during the mid-20th century. He collaborated with Wohnbedarf AG on lighting and furnishings that focused on utility, straightforward construction, and efficient material use. His documented output includes several lighting models developed for Wohnbedarf in the 1950s.
ConditionThe stem, base, and shade show age- and use-related wear consistent with a lamp produced in the 1950s. The pivoting mechanism operates smoothly, and the original on/off switch remains functional.
