The surface of the table displays inalyaed carved symbols of a club, heart, spade, and diamond. The top can be folded out to reveal a green felt playfield designed for dice games or card games. The folding mechanism is constructed from patinated brass and allows the top to rotate, ensuring the extended leaves are supported by the legs. The table's frame is constructed in a geometric shape with curved feet at the base. The hand carved playing card symbols are integrated into the wood surface and remain visible when the table is closed. The interior playfield is square in shape and fitted with green felt material. The brass components show signs of patina consistent with age. The overall construction and mechanical features indicate a design intended for multifunctional domestic use during the early 20th century.
Condition
The table is in good vintage condition, showing some surface scratches and wear which is in line with the age of the game table, being from 1910-1920. The green felt material shows signs of usage and on one side of the square the felt is 0.5 cm short, causing a portion of the underlying wooden frame to remain visible as seen on the images. If wished for, the green felt can be replaced and additional restoration on the frame can be done.
We have consciously chosen to photograph all of our items in their current state to present the real original condition as completely as possible for transparency towards our clients.
In case you have any additional questions about the original condition, always feel free to reach out and ask us for additional images. We do also offer services such as restoration and re-upholstery in case this is wished for.
