Characterised by its sculptural form, the chair features a sleek metal frame that supports a curved, upholstered seat and backrest, upholstered in it's original cognac coloured leatherette. The chair is made with a black lacquered metal frame and shows some brass details. The upholstered armrests offer good comfort and the original upholstery shows an elegant patina adding depth to any interior.
Gastone Rinaldi was an influential Italian designer best known for his work with the RIMA (Rinaldi Industria Mobili Arredamento) furniture company, which he co-founded in the 1950s. Rinaldi's designs for RIMA combined sleek modernist aesthetics with a focus on functionality.
Condition
The desk chair shows signs of age and use, both on the frame and on the cognac upholstery. The upholstery is beautifully patinated as the images show, additionally the armrests have some small scratches and the brass feet are an elegant detail.
