Sculptural set of 4 dining chairs of Italian origin, 1970s. This set reminds strongly of the work by Tobia & Afra Scarpa for Cassina, and they are often attributed to them.
The set shows a very elegant curved backrest which gives a sturdy and comfortable back support. Placed on a U shaped base in stained beechwood with an Italian walnut colour. The base is very similar to the Scarpa 121 chair for Cassina which forms a gentle contrast with the black leather.
The leather on the chairs is the original leather which has a detailed stitching alongside the edges of the chairs as a part of the design. The aniline dyed leather shows a fantastic grain with natural characteristics visible in the surface.

Condition
These chairs have signs of use on the black leather which gives the seating and backrest a beautiful characteristic feature as seen on the images. The frames showcase stunning joints and have some minor scratches and dents which are in line with the age of the set.
We have consciously chosen to photograph all of our items in their current state to present the real original condition as completely as possible for transparency towards our clients.
