This lowboard in solid pine was designed by Ate van Apeldoorn in the 1960s and produced by Houtwerk Hattem in the Netherlands. It is constructed from solid pine wood. The design includes one drawer located on the right side. The top surface is flat and can also be used for seating, making the piece suitable for use as a bed end or hallway bench.

The construction uses visible joinery techniques and features straight lines. The piece was part of a range of furniture produced by Houtwerk Hattem during the mid-20th century. Ate van Apeldoorn worked primarily with pine and focused on wood construction techniques. His designs were produced in various formats including tables, storage units, and seating. This lowboard reflects his approach to form and material use. The dimensions and proportions of the piece allow for multifunctional use in interior settings. It was made in the Netherlands and distributed locally during the 1960s.
