Named 'Roto' by the Italian sculptor Giacomo Benevelli, edited by Gaetano Missaglia, Italy, 1970.This original 1970s table lamp is composed of two contrasting elements that engage in a dynamic dialogue. The first is a rounded aluminum base, characterised by simple yet robust lines that resemble a protective shell, evoking an organic presence.
On the inside of the sculpture is a glass sphere that diffuses light with a warm glow. The result is a harmonious balance between the cool, solid exterior and the luminous core, embodying the spirit of the sculpture.
This lamp stands as one of the most iconic works of Italian-French sculptor and painter Giacomo Benevelli. His signature use of metal as a primary material, the abstraction of forms, and the integration of light as a key compositional element underscore his status as a leading figure in contemporary abstract sculpture.
Condition
The surface of the table lamp shows some signs of age and use, there are some small scratches. The glass is fully in tact.
