Swedish Highboard manufactured by A.B. Svenska Möbelfabrikerna Bodafors (SMB), Sweden, dating back to the 1920's/1930's. Outer part of this piece is covered with dark stained birch veneer with solid wooden...Swedish Highboard manufactured by A.B. Svenska Möbelfabrikerna Bodafors (SMB), Sweden, dating back to the 1920's/1930's. Outer part of this piece is covered with dark stained birch veneer with solid wooden details and scalloped edges/ The front of the cabinet is decorated with wooden carvings with floral motifs such as leaves and flowers. This cabinet is showing a high level of craftsmanship such as the scalloped edges and handmade carvings.
The interior of the highboard also emphasises the extreme high level of quality which this piece has. It's made from solid oak and the interior comes with shelves and 2 drawers. Key included.
This model is generally attributed to Axel Einar Hjorth who also worked with SMB at the time.
Condition
The cabinet shows some minor scratches and signs of usage which is in line with the age of the piece being from 1920/1930s. The cabinet has a minor mark on the left side border. The inside of the cabinet shows an oak colour which is a stunning detail in combination with the floral elements on the outside.
