Tura was particularly renowned for his use of rare and exotic materials, such as parchment, goatskin, and lacquered wood, often incorporating high-gloss finishes and rich, deep colors. One of his most intriguing techniques was the application of Japanese eggshell inlay, a method that involved carefully arranging and embedding crushed eggshells into lacquered surfaces to create intricate, textured patterns. Condition
The table top has been restored with partially new eggshell. The finish of the table has been redone, leaving a few signs of age visible. The construction has been checked and it is in great structural shape.
