The Nigritella Pendant, in Midnight Blue, was designed by Tobia and Afra Scarpa for Flos in the 1960s. Made from aluminum, the pendant features a conical shape with a deep blue finish. This design element provides a unique lighting effect, with light spilling through the perforations while directing light downward. The pendant is suspended by a cord, and its design emphasizes both functionality and minimalism. It was created as part of the Nigritella series, reflecting the Scarpa's approach to modern lighting design, focusing on simplicity and materiality. The piece has become an iconic example of mid-century Italian design.

Afra and Tobia Scarpa are Italian designers and architects known for their work in industrial design, furniture design, and architecture. They collaborated on numerous projects, often combining modernist principles with traditional craftsmanship. They worked with several major design brands, including Cassina and Flos, producing furniture, lighting, and interior designs. Their designs are characterized by their use of innovative materials and functional forms. In addition to their design work, they also contributed to architectural projects, including private homes and public spaces.

    Condition
The midnight blue shade and ceiling plate are in vintage condition with signs of age and use. The ceiling plate of this pendant shows patina as well as the cord of the pendant' This specific pendant comes without a glass plate.
