The trolley is constructed in metal (nickel plated brass) and stained wood (either stained meranti or Italian Walnut) and follows a structural layout based on intersecting horizontal and vertical elements. The design features two levels connected through a metal frame with integrated handles and wheels. The shelves are set within the metal structure and define the proportions of the piece.
The construction combines industrial materials with woodworking techniques used in Italian furniture production during the post-war period. The wheels of the barcart are integrated into the lower section, allowing the trolley to function as a mobile serving unit or side table within residential interiors. The metal frame outlines the geometry of the structure while the wooden surfaces define the horizontal planes of the design.
Ico Parisi worked as an architect, designer, photographer, and artist and became associated with Italian modern design during the 1950s and 1960s. He is known for furniture designs combining sculptural structures with architectural construction methods and for collaborations with Italian manufacturers including Cassina, Singer & Sons, and Stildomus. His work included residential interiors, exhibition design, and furniture production across Italy during the post-war period.
The trolley is in overal good vintage condition, with the wooden surface completely restored and refinished. The frame and wood are showing age related user marks throughout the frame. All wheels are in good condition and functioning. Both tops have received a new finish and showing some minor spots visible in the images. We can always offer additional restoration in case this is wished for. Images before the restoration process available
