This bench is made of solid Wengé wood and features a surface composed of evenly spaced wooden slats. The bench stands on four legs on each sidecreating an appealing repetition....This bench is made of solid Wengé wood and features a surface composed of evenly spaced wooden slats. The bench stands on four legs on each sidecreating an appealing repetition.
The surface of the Wengé shows a visible grain pattern consistent with the natural characteristics of the wood. The joints on the sides are executed in a lighter wood, creating a contrast with the Wenge. The form is linear, and the construction focuses on stability and material efficiency. The dimensions and proportions suggest use as a low seating element or functional surface. The use of Wengé, a wood that became widely used in furniture during the 1960s, suggests the set was most likely produced in that period and reflects woodworking techniques and material use typical of Dutch furniture design of the time.It would also function well as a seating element when paired with custom seat cushions. Condition
The bench has signs of age and use which is in line with the age of the item. All legs and the top of the bench have some minor scratches and one small restoration is done. Overall in great condition with some age related wear
