The seat area is composed of transparent Perspex/Acrylic, supported by the steel frame and leather slings. This construction distributes weight across the sling and Perspex while providing structural stability. The chairs feature a minimalistic form with two main supporting elements and a suspended seating surface, allowing the body to rest on the combination of leather and Perspex.
Arform Brasil produced and distributed these chairs during the 1970s. The company collaborated with designers to create seating and interior products for the Brazilian market. Arform Brasil worked on furniture for residential and commercial spaces and engaged with European designers, including Paolo Tilche, to realize production pieces locally. Their approach integrated international design ideas with local manufacturing techniques, contributing to furniture production in Brazil during that period.
Condition
The black steel frame shows signs of age and use throughout, including some scratches. The black leather sling construction remains well-preserved, and the overall structure is intact. The transparent acrylic seat is in original condition and in tact, showing signs of age and wear, including some surface scratches consistent with regular use. When preferred we can investigate the possibilities of polishing the acrylic seat.
Through the transparent seating, the ‘Arform Brasil’ mark is visible. We have consciously chosen to photograph all of our items in their current state to present the real original condition as completely as possible for transparency towards our clients.
In case you have any additional questions about the original condition, always feel free to reach out and ask us for additional images. We do also offer services such as restoration and re-upholstery in case this is wished for. -
