Crafted from solid teak, the smallest table bears the maker’s mark “Nissen Denmark.” The tables are characterized by darker wooden joints on the tabletop, demonstrating precise joinery and attention to detail. Each table features a circular cut-out on the side panels, a functional and visually engaging design element that allows for easy handling and adds a distinct identity to the set. The tables can be arranged in multiple configurations, sliding back and fort in overlapping positions, allowing for flexible arrangements. This design reflects Quistgaard’s focus on practicality, material integrity, and modular furniture solutions that adapt to modern living spaces.
Jens Quistgaard (1919–2008) was a Danish designer and sculptor known for his contributions to mid-century modern design. Trained as a metalworker, he became renowned for combining industrial production with traditional craftsmanship. Quistgaard designed functional household objects, tableware, and furniture that emphasized utility and form. He worked with several Danish manufacturers, most notably Dansk Designs, where his work helped define Scandinavian design for international markets. His use of natural materials such as teak, cast iron, and stainless steel, along with his focus on modular and stackable forms, made his designs practical, enduring, and influential in postwar modern interiors.Condition
These nesting tables are in very good vintage condition, showing some small signs of age and use mostly on the two smaller tables due to the sliding back and forth in overlapping positions.
We have consciously chosen to photograph all of our items in their current state to present the real original condition as completely as possible for transparency towards our clients.
In case you have any additional questions about the original condition, always feel free to reach out and ask us for additional images. We do also offer services such as restoration and re-upholstery in case this is wished for.1of 19 -
